Kerbey Lane Cafe, One of Austin's Premier 24 Hour Restaurants

Kerbey Lane Cafe, One of Austin's Premier 24 Hour Restaurants

We were housesitting and got hungry, it was late night, and we wanted to fill our bellies with good queso, and maybe some food to go with it.

Enter: Kerbey Lane Cafe. Everything from delicious pancakes, to burgers and beyond! Did we mention the queso? THREE kinds to choose from, INCLUDING A VEGAN QUESO! Want Beans, Guac and Pico in your queso? Get the Cowboy Queso!

We got Cowboy Queso and Lemon Poppyseed French Toast and both were delicious! We had leftovers that got eaten the next day in a big glass of cold milk! (Because that's just how I do things, I also eat cereal out of a cup!)

The best part? They sell their mixes! Today they had:
Classic Buttermilk Pancake Mix
Gingerbread Pancake Mix
Gingerbread Pancake Mix (Gluten Free)
Pumpkin Pancake Mix
AND
Lemon Poppyseed Pancake Mix

But they may change based on seasonal availability!

We had a great time, check it out today!

If you are thinking “Magnolia Cafe is Better!” Check out our date there!

Fun Fact: Kerbey Lane and Magnolia Cafe Were Originally: “The Omelettry West” in 1979 started by Ken Carpenter with Patricia and Kent Cole.

Carpenter decided to relocate to what is now, “The Omlettry” on Burnet. He offered the space to Kent and Patricia. They ended up divorcing a year later, Patricia went on to start Kerbey Lane Cafe while Kent stayed and started Magnolia Cafe! Almost 40 years later all three are still going strong!
