My name is Nifty Nate and I am engaged to the love of my life, Miss Amber.
We have lived in Austin for 15 years and still have not visited every great spot in our little town.
People would ask us where to go and we would suggest the usual places: The Continental Club, Hope Graffiti Park, Barton springs pool (or the runoff if you have dogs).
You can VIEW, but NOT edit. This is to preserve the integrity of this project. We only want authentic answers from authentic people who aren't motivated by anything other than the desire to share great places with others.
We go out and actually talk to people and ask them about their favorite places in Austin. You might make some small talk with us and we ask you in passing "Hey, what's your favorite restaurant around here? or Where do you like to go on rainy days like this?"
We aren't looking for a million people saying "Oh Franklin's is the best BBQ." It's amazing Barbecue don't get us wrong, but Franklin's is probably not your regular spot for BBQ.*(1)
We want to hear about your regular spots, your actual favorites, Tell me about Black's and Donn's BBQ, Tell me about Fonda San Miguel's Duck Enchilada's, Tell me about the Porkchops at Perry's!
This is Austin, written by all of us.
Thank you for reading, and thank you for your suggestions. We really appreciate it!
*(1) Unless you are from England and you enjoy a good que. In that case Franklin's is THE best place to que for que with a mate or two and maybe a brew because they will serve them to you, or bring your own too, to the que for que.
Expect a 4-8 hour wait.
